What A Man Wants Is…

Okay, too obvious of question, but let’s move on from that top answer.

For a good laugh, I love to check out women’s magazines. Mainly for one thing in particular. It gives me a nice feeling in the pit of my stomach when

What Every Guy Wants For Christmas

Okay, so, playing a version of this game at Chuck E Cheese (with my kids…), it is just down right awesome. Why it is at a place where elementary age kids roam is beyond me, but it gives us burly men who crave the wilderness something to do and focus upon as the roars of children rage on about us.

What game do I speak of?

Big Buck Hunter Pro!

No longer will men have to wake up at the butt crack of dawn to hunt! (unless you like to do the whole field dressing gig) Now, you can simply plug it in to your TV and get to being Rambo on some deer, or sheep, or other animals. Who cares that it is set for ages 6-12! This is just downright, good, wholesome, killing fun.

Women, do your man right. Buy this and then set aside some man-time on the TV. You will have a happy boy, in more ways than one.

Or go for the awesome one. Full Arcade Machine!

In Memoriam…

This post is dedicated to those hopeless teams that have had their seasons cut short because, alas, they are not good enough to make it to the playoffs.

Here’s to you, Kansas City Royals, my team who hasn’t even smelled a playoff atmosphere in over 20 years. Here’s to your continued quest to not lose 100 games each year. You have achieved that this year. *marks date down* And the MAN rejoices.

Here’s to you, Washington Nationals, the team near me. You haven’t reached the playoffs or even came close… ever. But at least you’re not in Montreal anymore.

Here’s to you, Detroit Lions, the team still searching for someone on the street that won’t suck as much as they currently do. At least you can take your pick of who you want to draft next year, since you will not win this year… again.

Here’s to you, Los Angeles Clippers, for you will never be better or more popular

Givin’ a One-Fingered Salute to Whiny Media

Okay, football is football. There’s going to be a winning team and a losing team. Any sport has that. It’s not like we can live with ties all the time. We even developed overtime so ties wouldn’t happen!

So, what’s the big deal when one team is MUCH better than the other? A week or so ago, a Florida football team won 83-0. So what? EVERY PLAYER PLAYED for the winning team. What do they want? Just to sit down on the field and not play? Please. That would do more injustice. It’s a game! Even in life you have to learn that sometimes, you shouldn’t be doing something. Football, it seems, shouldn’t be done by that other team. Sorry. Someone had to say it since your parents always say, “You tried. That’s all that matters.” While that is true, I can keep trying to be a NASCAR driver, but if I come in last or wreck the car every time out, trying ain’t good enough. NEXT!

So, this week, it’s another “blow-out” “blown-out” of proportion by the media. In Arizona, a team won 67-0. So? The starting quarterback had 9 touchdown passes. So what? EVERY PLAYER PLAYED for the winning team. Even the opposing coach said that they didn’t run the score up. They were just THAT GOOD. But no, the winning coach is getting lambasted by the media for running the score up, not playing fair, for having a talented team, you name it.

In competition, you’re going to have winners and losers. If you’re completely outclassed and get your butt kicked, live and learn. If you are cheated, well, that’s a different story. But, this isn’t a case of that. Media sucks since they want everyone to “be nice, everyone tie, everyone be happy”. And if we did that, then perhaps we might be stupid enough to believe everything that is on the internet or told to us by biased and skewed reporters/networks.

Men, let’s give the one-fingered salute to the media for this coverage and say, “May the best team win by WHATEVER they want!” After all, if I were to play tennis against Andy Roddick, the media might report Andy as being mean to me since he wouldn’t let me win a game. Am I going to cry? Nope. But, I might ask for an autograph across my butt since he’d own it after the match.
