Preseason Polls: What’s the Point?

Okay. Let’s look at pre-season polls (take your pick… NCAAF, NCAAB, fantasy football…).

Do they even MATTER?!?

Let’s look at 2004 (Utah) or 2006 (Boise State). Both teams ranked WELL BELOW what they ended up. Utah started at #20, but went 12-0 and ended up at #4. USC ended up the second in-a-row championship by destroying Oklahoma.

Seriously, you need to get over your Sooner envy and get on with life. I agree with your assessment of preseason polls and the obvious pile of poop that is the BCS; however, I would like to bring to light that you are a KU fan…Kansas…the Jayhawks. Really?!?! You want to rag on the Sooners?!? I think your frustration might be a little misguided…
