Women… ; or Guys = Fisticuffs! Women = Drama!!!!

I confess, women confuse the beejesus out of me. And I’m in a house full of them (wife, 2 daughters).

Today’s Topic: FIGHTING!

What does FIGHTING mean to a dude? Punching, hitting, knocking one or the other out and then drinking a beer afterwards. Pretty simple stuff. Don’t hold revenge out for very long, if ever. Maybe some blood, rarely a broken bone (other than a finger or toe), and it basically is just a physical butt-kickin’.

What does FIGHTING mean to the fairer sex? Grudges, hair pulling, never forgetting when you were wronged, and mental/emotional warfare. This is extremely evident with my daughters. There is rarely blood, never a real physical fight, but always, ALWAYS remembered for future references as to why they did something. (Remember, when you said I wasn’t invited to your birthday party last year, well … *fill in the blank*)

In my time, I have only seen 1 girl fight. That happened at my high school, many moons ago. There was hair pulling and then one girl tried throwing the other down a flight of stairs. It was pretty entertaining, but in the end, it just turned into a name calling match and “no, you didn’t” type of behavior.

Dude fights are a common thing. (I’d say they were banal, but some of the guys reading this might not know what that means and take it the wrong way and come searching for me and showing me a banal time) You see a few punches fly, then it’s broken up, then the next day (or hour), all is well. Or else they just go back to not talking to each other as they did before the fight. Nothing really changes.

But women… wow. My daughters probably have so much ammunition against one another for years to come, that I’m dreading what happens come their teenage years. I wonder if boot camp is a good thing for a pair of teens… *shudders* Women.

So, aside from guys not understanding women and relationships and *fill in the blank*, we’re pretty smart. I mean, ask us anything about sports, even the most non-popular of sports (cricket, for instance), and we can tell you something about it or at least BS enough that you’ll remember not to ask again. Heck, even put on something sports related on the television, and we’ll watch it like a hawk and forget to do any of those chores you told us men to do. It’s proven science. I even get sucked in watching Australian Rules Football.

In the end, I will just smile and watch as the girls take it out on one another, as evolution has taught us that they will eventually adapt to their situation. We men did. We can enjoy the finer things in life without holding grudges. Now, what’s on ESPN?
